Bedford Radio boasts three nominations for SME Business Awards

The Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce SME Bedfordshire Business Awards are just around the corner and one local radio station is up for three prizes as it continues to reach more ears across the Borough.

Bedford Radio, fronted by station manager Martin Steers, are nominees in the ‘Bedford Business of the Year’ category alongside the ‘Business Innovation Award’ while there is also an individual nomination for Steers, who is hoping to pick up the ‘Business Person of the Year’ prize.

The last 12 months has signalled significant growth for the local radio station, as it began to broadcast on DAB as well as training more volunteer presenters to bring a wider variety of shows to the Bedford community.

Bedford Radio is a local, not-for-profit radio station serving Bedford and the surrounding area.

With a mission to inform, entertain, and connect the community, the station offers a platform for local voices and stories, with programming created by and for Bedford’s diverse population.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to receive not one but two nominations for the station, and it’s an honour to be recognised myself with a nomination” said Martin Steers, station manager of Bedford Radio.

“It’s a testament to the incredible team behind the scenes, our dedicated volunteers, and the loyal support of our listeners across Bedford. We’re passionate about being a voice for the community and bringing local stories, talent, and ideas to our local Bedford audience.”

The station continues to grow and is always keen to hear from anyone who wants to volunteer to get involved behind the microphone as a presenter or producer, or even behind the scenes helping grow the station and its day-to-day operations.

The winners of the SME Bedfordshire Business Awards will be announced at the official awards ceremony in Luton on the 19 June.
