Chris Pincher: Former government whip to stand down at next election | Politics News

Chris Pincher, the MP whose conduct kickstarted the end of Boris Johnson’s premiership, is standing down at the next election.

Mr Pincher, the MP for Tamworth since 2010, resigned from his job as deputy chief whip in June last year following allegations about his conduct.

Boris Johnson suspended him from the Tory party in July after he was accused of assaulting two fellow guests at the exclusive Carlton Club in London last year.

Mr Pincher has sat as an independent MP in the Commons ever since.
