The support within Red Bull Austria is less clear. Rumours have been that Mateschitz’s son, Mark, was not a supporter of Horner, despite him having been a close ally of his father, while the relationship between Horner and Red Bull’s influential motorsport consultant, Helmut Marko, has long been volatile. Relations with Max Verstappen’s father, Jos, are also said to be strained.
