Man City XI vs West Ham: De Bruyne injury latest, confirmed team news and predicted lineup
Pep Guardiola was forced to leave the Belgian playmaker at home for the win over Fulham, citing a minor injury issue suffered in the latter stages against Arsenal.
Speaking at Craven Cottage, the City boss admitted: “He doesn’t feel good. He has some injury and could not travel.”
With West Ham up next in the reigning Premier League champions’ latest game in hand on rivals Arsenal, Guardiola will address the media later today to provide an update on De Bruyne’s fitness.
There is also expected to be news on the condition of Nathan Ake, who had not returned to training in time for the Fulham game having suffered a hamstring injury last month.
Manuel Akanji has deputised at left-back for City in Ake’s absence with Julian Alvarez stepping up for De Bruyne last time out.
Having scored the winner at Fulham, the Argentine may keep his place if Guardiola opts not to risk the midfielder.
