Manchester United XI vs Bournemouth: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, Marcus Rashford injury latest
United’s top scorer was absent last weekend for the win over Wolves and, despite returning to training this week, is now battling illness and could once again be absent at the Vitality Stadium.
However, there is better news for United, with Raphael Varane fully fit and available and Scott McTominay back in first-team training having missed the last six weeks with injury.
“So a positive, Varane definitely available,” Ten Hag said on Friday.
“Scott joined in training, when we find training will go well he will be in.”
Should Rashford’s illness rule him out, Alejandro Garnacho is pushing to come into the side for his first start in more than two months. The 18-year-old made his comeback from injury against Wolves last time out, coming off the bench and scoring late on, and is an option to replace Jadon Sancho on the left wing.
Otherwise there are no major surprises expected in the United lineup, as they look to take another step towards securing a top-four finish. Aaron Wan-Bissaka will likely get the nod over Diogo Dalot at right-back again, while Anthony Martial should keep his place up front.
Marcel Sabitzer, Lisandro Martinez and Donny van de Beek all remain out and will not return before the end of the season.
Predicted Man United XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Sancho; Martial
