Nottingham Forest 0-0 Arsenal LIVE! Premier League match stream, latest score and goal updates today
Arsenal need to avoid defeat later this afternoon when they travel up to Nottingham Forest’s City Ground in order to keep the Premier League title nominally alive. While it remains hugely unlikely the Gunners can overhaul Manchester City from here, defeat on the banks of the River Trent would see their challenge ended in rather meek fashion.
A response to last week’s defeat to Brighton is required, with Mikel Arteta’s having been too immpressive this season to watch it fall away in such a disappointing way. Granit Xhaka gets the nod over Kieran Tierney at left-back for the visitors, while Thomas Partey and Jorginho both start in midfield.
Steve Cooper’s side are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table and have built their survival bid on some impressive home form, with the City Ground has not been a particularly happy hunting ground for Arsenal in recent years. Follow the action LIVE with Standard Sport’s dedicated match blog! Simon Collings will be providing expert analysis from the ground!
Live updates
12 mins: Long spell of possession, Odegaard slides it through to Trossard and he plays Jesus in.
Angle is tight, the Brazilian just about beats Navas to the ball but the shot is smothered and Forest can slow things down again. Arsenal very much in control now.
10 mins: Match starting to settle into more of the expected pattern.
Forest sitting back deep in their shape, Arsenal having plenty of the ball in defence and midfield. As most teams have found here this season though, Forest are a really tough side to break down.
8 mins: Gibbs-White flying down the right, beats Kiwior for pace and wins a corner for his side. Lodi takes… awful.
Arsenal haven’t really got going yet, don’t think Trossard or Saka have had a kick.

It looks like Arteta has basically flipped the build-up.
So Partey tucking in from right-back to do Zinchenko role. Kiwior then makes it a back-three, like White would normally do.
5 mins: Arsenal having to deal with plenty of long throws in the opening minutes. Ball being flung into he box.
Bit of a mess, it bobbles around before eventually the whistle goes. Jesus challenging for a header and he wins a free-kick. Bright start this from the hosts.
3 mins: Forest very keen to lump balls down their left, with Partey at right-back. They’ll fancy their chances of having some success down that flank.
Frantic pace to the match early on, Partey having to slide in to stop a Forest break.

After all that – it’s Partey right-back. White and Gabriel centre-backs. Kiwior left-back.

The City Ground is LOUD. Fans, most likely, been on the beers all day in the May sunshine. Stands quite literally bouncing.
