Today’s Olympics schedule: Team GB events, Day 8 medal highlights and how to watch Paris Games
The Olympics continue on Saturday with another slew of medals set to be won in Paris amid a typically hectic Games schedule.
The women’s 100m final takes centre stage as the athletics action ramps up at the Stade de France, but that is far from the only highlight.
Team GB will be out to increase their medal tally even further, having set a new national record for the most golds secured in the first week of an Olympic Games with nine after a memorable treble on Fantastic Friday.

Men’s cycling road race – 10am
We’re back out on the road for the first of this weekend’s cycling races spanning 273km on a city circuit featuring plenty of gruelling climbs that both starts and finishes at the Place du Trocadero.
The likes of Mathieu van der Poel, Remco Evenepoel, Wout van Aert and Mads Pedersen will hope to battle for gold.
Men’s pommel horse final – 4:16pm
Max Whitlock, the most successful British gymnast of all-time, will bow out of the sport following Saturday evening’s pommel horse final – but will he do so on top of the world again?
Whitlock, who won gold in this event in both Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo, is looking to become the first man to win three pommel horse titles on the bounce, as well as the first gymnast to win a medal on the same apparatus at four successive Games.
The 31-year-old qualified third for the final but then upped the difficulty of his routine during Monday night’s team final. A third straight fourth-placed finish there has added further fuel.
Women’s 100m final – 8:20pm
All eyes will be on the fast Stade de France purple track on Saturday night for the first of this weekend’s huge 100m finals.
We won’t know the exact lineup until after the semi-finals on Saturday, but reigning world champion Sha’Carri Richardson of the USA should be a clear favourite barring disaster after her dominant performance in the heats.
Jamaican rival Shericka Jackson has withdrawn from the 100m event in Paris, but is still running in the 200m.
Compatriot Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce and Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia will be expected to take the fight to Richardson instead, while Team GB will hope that Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita make it through.

How to watch Olympics Day 8
TV channel: The BBC is broadcasting two live streams of the action for the duration of the Games. This will be on BBC One, BBC Two or a stream available by clicking the red button on Freeview or a smart TV.
On Saturday, it’s 8am BST until 1pm on BBC One and again from 1:15pm until 6pm, plus 6:20pm until 10pm. BBC Two briefly pick up the coverage between 6pm and 6:20pm.
There is reduced coverage compared with previous years, when the BBC broadcasted everything from archery to wrestling live on its website or channels. Instead, Discovery+ is the main rights holder for Paris 2024 and is showing every moment across the Eurosport channels in the UK from 7am to 10.30pm every day.
Live stream: Fans can also catch the BBC coverage live online for free via the BBC Sport website and BBC iPlayer. The Discovery+ app will be showing extensive coverage, which begins at a monthly fee of £3.99.
Highlights: The BBC will be showing a nightly highlights show called Tonight at the Games, which on Saturday night is being shown on BBC One at 10.20pm.
