The Gunners brushed aside Chelsea 3-1 in a hastily rearranged London derby on Tuesday night, getting back to the summit for now.
Arsenal had been knocked off top spot after title rivals Manchester City secured a 2-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. City can go back to first place by beating West Ham on Wednesday.
On Sunday, Liverpool beat Tottenham in dramatic fashion after a late winner from Diogo Jota, after Newcastle and Manchester United claimed earlier victories over Southampton and Aston Villa respectively. Bournemouth also beat Leeds to all-but secure their survival status.
The matchday all started on Saturday lunchtime when Crystal Palace edged a seven-goal thriller against West Ham, while Brentford struck late to deny Nottingham Forest a crucial victory in their bid to beat the drop. Brighton, meanwhile, smashed Wolves 6-0.
Leicester and Everton played out a thrilling draw on Monday night, with Liverpool facing Fulham on Wednesday. Brighton also host Manchester United in a swift FA Cup semi-final replay on Thursday evening.
