Transfer news LIVE! Chelsea agree Caicedo terms; Arsenal make new Timber bid; Man Utd deal done; Spurs offer
It is a busy period in the transfer window for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, with deals for Kai Havertz, Nicolas Jackson and Guglielmo Vicario nearing the finish line. The likes of Declan Rice, Victor Osimhen, Moises Caicedo and Mason Mount are also very much up for grabs with still over two months left to go in the summer market.
Mikel Arteta is desperate to sign Rice and a third bid is expected amid £100million competition from Manchester City, though they have now been linked with Youssouf Fofana as an alternative option. Havertz reportedly underwent his medical at the weekend and could be announced soon, while an improved offer for Jurrien Timber is now understood to have been made.
Over at Chelsea, Jackson should be named as their new striker imminently and they have also now reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Moises Caicedo. Manchester United want Andre Onana after agreeing to sign Harry Amass, while Spurs are close to announcing goalkeeper Vicario as they plot a first offer for James Maddison and Bayern Munich are leading the race for Harry Kane. Chelsea willing to pay Diogo Costa release clause
Chelsea are said to be ready to beat Manchester United to the signing of Diogo Costa.
United have been eyeing up the Porto goalkeeper as their long-term replacement for David de Gea, whose Old Trafford future remains subject to considerable doubt.
However, the likes of Andre Onana, David Raya and Bart Verbruggen are also said to be under consideration by United, leaving Chelsea the chance to pounce for Costa.
According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Chelsea have been working on a deal for the Portuguese ‘keeper and are willing to pay his £64.5m release clause in instalments.
The Blues are also eager to find a new No1 for Mauricio Pochettino this summer with Edouard Mendy set to leave for Saudi Arabia and Kepa Arrizabalaga’s future also uncertain.
Chelsea reach agreement with Moises Caicedo
Chelsea apparently now have an agreement over personal terms with Moises Caicedo.
That is the latest on the situation from transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who has been keeping fans updated tonight via The Residency app.
Romano says Chelsea have an agreement on their side with Caicedo, but will now talk to Brighton over the fee.
Arsenal make improved Jurrien Timber bid
Arsenal have now tabled their new bid for Jurrien Timber, according to the latest reports.
The Gunners had been expected to return with a fresh offer for the Dutch defender having seen an initial £30m proposal rebuffed by Ajax last week.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have made a new £41.5m bid for Timber, a player valued by his current club at around the £50m mark.
They are said to be confident of wrapping up the deal in the coming days, with Timber believed to be close to agreeing terms on a £90,000-per-week contract at the Emirates that could rise to £120,000 per week with bonuses.
Chelsea to formalise Moises Caicedo interest
Chelsea are set to formalise their interest in Moises Caicedo, reports claim.
The Blues have long since been targeting the versatile Ecuador international, who has been the heartbeat of Brighton’s incredible rise under first Graham Potter then Roberto De Zerbi.
With Arsenal currently focused on beating Manchester City to top summer target Declan Rice, the path to Caicedo could be wide open as things stand, though Manchester United could reportedly move for him if they don’t get Mason Mount, with Liverpool having also been linked.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea will formalise their interest in the 21-year-old, but only after they have confirmed the exits of a number of players including Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic, Edouard Mendy and Hakim Ziyech.
AC Milan close to Loftus-Cheek deal
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is close to joining Chelsea’s summer exodus.
The midfielder’s exit from Stamford Bridge was certainly expected in this window as the Blues overhaul their squad in preparation for Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival.
AC Milan took an immediate interest in Loftus-Cheek – who bid an emotional farewell to fans on the last day of the season – and have been working hard to get a deal over the line, efforts intensified by Sandro Tonali heading to Newcastle.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Rossoneri are now close to wrapping up a deal worth €16m plus €4m in add-ons, with Loftus-Cheek having already agreed personal terms.
Newcastle in advanced talks over Livramento deal
Plenty happening on the transfer front tonight, including Newcastle entering talks over another player.
Eddie Howe is on the lookout for top additions all over the pitch this summer as the resurgent Magpies prepare for their first season in the Champions League for two decades.
Full-back is a particular priority area for Newcastle it would seem, with the Daily Telegraph reporting that they are in advanced discussions with relegated Southampton over a £15m deal for Tino Livramento.
That seems quite a steal for a player who impressed hugely after leaving Chelsea for the Saints in 2021, before seeing his vast progress disrupted by a long-term knee injury.
Such a low fee would minimise Chelsea’s sell-on clause, with the Blues having also retained a buy-back option.
Chelsea could reignite Vlahovic interest
Could Dusan Vlahovic be a genuine option for Chelsea this summer?
The Blues appear to want further forward additions as part of a huge overhaul, following the deals for Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Juventus are interested in signing Romelu Lukaku in the current window.
Matt Law says that signing Vlahovic and offloading Lukaku would “kill two birds with one stone” for Chelsea.
Man United beat Chelsea to deal for Harry Amass
Manchester United are reportedly set to pull of a transfer coup by winning the race for young Harry Amass.
The 16-year-old Watford left-back has been earning rave reviews in the youth ranks at Vicarage Road, attracting interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
Standard Sport reported back in March that United were set to beat Chelsea to the signing of Amass, having entered into advanced talks over a deal.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano now reports that deal is done and will become official this week, with the teenager poised to sign a four-year contract at Old Trafford.

Tottenham set to table James Maddison bid
Tottenham are making a hard push to sign James Maddison, according to the latest reports.
Spurs are known to be targeting the England playmaker to join a new era under Ange Postecoglou following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League.
Tottenham are also said to be keen on his Foxes team-mate Harvey Barnes, supposedly seeing a joint bid for the duo rejected earlier this month.
But Maddison is said to be Spurs’ No1 summer target and the Daily Telegraph now report that talks are advancing, with Tottenham pushing hard for a deal and set to table an offer this week.
Leicester value Maddison – who is entering the final 12 months of his contract at the King Power Stadium – at £60m, but it is believed that Spurs are hoping to pay £40m up front with various add-ons and instalments.
Man United sell Iqbal… but he could return
Manchester United have confirmed the sale of Zidane Iqbal to FC Utrecht.
The Iraq midfielder, 20, departs Old Trafford after 11 years and graduating through the club’s academy system, signing a four-year contract in the Eredivisie for an undisclosed fee believed to be approximately £850,000.
But while Iqbal’s departure is on a permanent deal, he may not be gone from United for good, with ESPN reporting that the sale includes a buy-back clause in addition to a hefty 40 per cent sell-on.
