Transfer news LIVE! Arsenal to announce Havertz, Rice update; new £130m Chelsea push, Caicedo boost; Spurs
It is going to be a big day in the transfer window for Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and more with deals for Kai Havertz, Nicolas Jackson and Guglielmo Vicario nearing the finish line. The likes of Declan Rice, Victor Osimhen, Moises Caicedo and Mason Mount are also very much up for grabs with still over two months to go in the market.
Mikel Arteta is determined to sign Rice with a third bid expected amid £100million competition from Manchester City, who want assurances he is happy to join them. Havertz reportedly underwent his medical on the weekend and could be announced soon with Jurrien Timber still a top target.
Over at Chelsea, Jackson should be named as their new striker imminently and a £130m push to land Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is underway. They are due to battle Manchester United for Brighton’s Caicedo, as a result of their refusal to allow Mount to leave for Old Trafford for £55m. Spurs could also announce a signing today with goalkeeper Vicario a done deal. Follow all the latest transfer news, updates and rumours with Standard Sport’s live blog below!

Kai Havertz teases Chelsea exit
Kai Havertz has been teasing his exit from Chelsea over the weekend.
Last night, the soon-to-be Arsenal striker posted a picture of himself with another imminent Blues departee, Mateo Kovacic
“We’re ready,” he wrote as the caption before he also took part in a snap with Jorginho.
The Arsenal midfielder posted a series of eyes-looking-to-the-side emojis alongside the snap of them together.
The footballers were all in Marbella together for Kepa Arrizabalaga’s wedding, and it has been reported that Havertz’s Arsenal medical was to take place abroad.
Chelsea boost in Man Utd battle for Moises Caicedo
Chelsea will be able to outbid Manchester United for Moises Caicedo.
That is according to the Telegraph, where it is claimed the Red Devils desire to sign a striker, goalkeeper and left winger will obstruct their ability to sign Caicedo.
Brighton are apparently ready to do a deal for the Ecuadorian but Chelsea, amid their raft of player sales, should be best placed to meet the Seagulls’ demands.
Declan Rice to Arsenal update
Manchester City want to know that Declan Rice is happy to sign for them before they make a £100m bid for the West Ham star.
Arsenal are reportedly Rice’s first choice for a summer switch, amid Mikel Arteta’s push to sign him as a number one priority.
A third offer from the Gunners, in the £100m region, is expected soon with City said by the Mirror to be ready to launch their own proposal – should they get reassurances from the player’s camp.
Arsenal are working hard to structure their offer while City have a whopping £300m in their transfer warchest, it has been claimed.
Nicolas Jackson on verge of becoming a Chelsea player
Chelsea will soon announce the signing of Nicolas Jackson after he completed a medical.
In a deal first reported by Standard Sport, the Blues have agreed to pay in the region of £30million for the Villarreal striker.
That is higher than Jackson’s release clause but comes on more favourable terms for Chelsea, who are able to pay the fee over several instalments.
Jackson has agreed to an eight-year contract at Stamford Bridge where the appetite for big long-term deals is not abating!
Arsenal announcement on Kai Havertz coming this week
Arsenal could announce the signing of Kai Havertz this week.
Several reports claimed the German striker underwent his medical over the weekend, when he was spotted at Kepa Arrizabalaga’s wedding in Marbella.
The Gunners will pay £60m to Chelsea for Havertz, with an extra £5m in the deal as add-ons.
Chelsea prepare Osimhen approach
Huge news coming out of Italy tonight… with Chelsea said to be ready to make an approach for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Napoli are set to demand around £130m for Osimhen but Sky Sport Italia claim Chelsea are not scared off by that price tag and will call Napoli next week to get a clearer idea of the situation.
Osimhen’s agent has met Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to discuss his future and to set the asking price that would make the Serie A champions consider an offer.
Chelsea are closing in on a £30m deal to sign Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal but a move for Osimhen would be one of the biggest transfer deals of the summer.
Tottenham are said to be a new contender for Osimhen amid uncertainty over the future of Harry Kane
Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old.
Timber set for five-year Arsenal deal
And more on Jurrien Timber… reports in Holland claim he has agreed a five-year contract at Arsenal.
De Telegraaf claim Timber has a verbal agreement over a deal that will run until 2028.
Arsenal prepare improved Timber offer
Arsenal are preparing a second bid for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.
The Gunners had an opening £30m bid for Timber rejected.
Ajax want closer to £50m but Arsenal are optimistic that a deal can be reached.
Fabrizio Romano says Timber agreed personal terms with Arsenal two days ago and the 22-year-old has his heart set on a move to Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal defender in line for Galatasaray move
Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares is in line for a move to Galatasaray, according to reports in Turkey.
The 23-year-old has struggled at Arsenal since moving to Emirates Stadium for £8m in 2021 and has been given the green light to leave this summer.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to upgrade his back-up full-back options.
The Gunners are interested in Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey and Tavares could be moving in the other direction.
Tavares spent last season out on loan at Marseille and is currently with the Portugal squad at the European Under-21 Championship.
