Bodies of four people found at house in Costessey near Norwich
Police are investigating after four people were found dead at a house near Norwich.
Norfolk Constabulary said officers attended an address on Allan Bedford Crescent, Costessey, shortly before 7am on Friday following a call from a member of the public.
They forced entry to the property, finding the bodies of four people inside, who are believed to have known each other. Enquiries are under way to formally identify them.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Burgess, of Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, said: âOur investigation is in the very early stages and this is clearly a very distressing and tragic incident.
âWhile weâre following a number of lines of enquiry, at this time we believe this is an isolated incident.
âI understand that news of this incident will be shocking to the local community and as soon as we can we will release more information.â
A police cordon is in place, with detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team leading enquiries, as forensic examinations are carried out.
Gary Blundell, a Lib Dem councillor who represents New Costessey at South Norfolk District Council, said that residents were âstunnedâ by the incident, adding that there was âno danger to the publicâ.
He told Eastern Daily Press: âItâs shocking â it just proves these sorts of things can happen anywhere.
âMy heart goes out to anybody involved in this.
âResidents in Queenâs Hill are stunned â we will need to get anyone affected the support they need.
âHad so many people contacting me to ask whatâs going on â want to make people aware thereâs no danger to the public.â
