Frank Makarati returns to Rufaro for a clash against former paymasters Dynamos

FOR Frank Makarati, Tel One’s match against Dynamos this Saturday afternoon at Rufaro Stadium will be more than just a match.
The 31-year-old defender will be up to face his former pay masters for the first time since parting ways with them in December 2024.
Having served Dembare for three years, Makarati knows it too well that all eyes will be on him this Saturday, hence he is prepared to for anything on the day.
“I know the Dynamos fans will create a hostile atmosphere, but it’s normal in football when playing such a big team.
“Individually l am not under any pressure because l am used to that pressure when l was playing for them (Dembare),” Makarati told NewZimbabwe.com.
Having been voted on to the 2023 Soccer Star of the Year calendar playing for Dynamos, Makarati admitted that walking on to the pitch representing an opponent side will be emotional.
“It’s going to be emotional but that’s football, l am now a Tel One player and l have to do my job for my new employer,” he added.
Tel One’s trip to Harare comes a fortnight after they were handed a 2-1 defeat against Herentals at the same venue in their 2025 season league opener.
Fresh from a 4-1 win over league returnees Triangle, the former Dynamos captain is confident that his side will pick a positive result this weekend.
“Last week, we got a win and that gives us a lot of confidence.
“If we check the way we played, it shows we are going in the right direction and l think everyone is ready to go and we eye another positive result,” said Makarati.
Dynamos will be hoping to register its first win of the season against Tel One following two consecutive goalless draws against ZPC Kariba and Herentals.
Dembare is one the four teams yet to score a goal this season, however, they also boast of being one of the three teams yet to concede a goal.
