Full list of NatWest Group banks set to close in 2024

NatWest Group has revealed plans to close 19 branches in the early part of 2024.

The closures will affect branches in England and Wales, with one Royal Bank of Scotland branch set to close in Glasgow in November 2024.

The move forms part of a larger trend of banks and building societies disappearing from our high streets.

Banks say this has been driven by an increased reliance on online and mobile banking and that the demand for in-person banking has shrunk.

In a statement, NatWest said: “Banking has changed dramatically in recent years, with an increased demand for mobile and online services, as our customers benefit from a faster and easier way to bank.

“Closing a branch is a decision we take very seriously.

“We know it can affect those less confident with alternatives we offer. We’ll always work hard to guide and support you through the changes and find the best way to serve you from now on.”

It added that community pop-up sites would be available in selected locations for up to 12 weeks after changes had been made to their branch network.

Which? has been tracking bank closures since 2015.

The building society has pledged to not leave any town or city in which it is based until at least 2026.
