Rafah border crossing could open for wounded Palestinians

Severely wounded Palestinians will be allowed to cross the Rafah border to complete their treatment in Egyptian hospitals, according to reports.

Egyptian authorities are set to allow 81 Gazans who have been seriously injured to enter Egypt on Wednesday, the Palestinian border authority said.

The Israeli military said 11 soldiers were also killed in fighting in Gaza on Tuesday. It is Israel’s biggest one-day lost since 7 October when Hamas killed around 300 soldiers and some 1,100 civilians.

A Hamas statement said there were 400 dead and injured in an Israeli strike on Jabalia refugee camp on Tuesday. The IDF said it had killed a Hamas commander Ibrahim Biari in the assault.
