Khama Billiat linked with move to Scottland as his contract with Yadah nears expiry

By Sports Reporter

CELEBRITY footballer, KHAMA Billiat is linked with a possible move to newly-promoted Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Scottland FC as his contract with Yadah runs out.

Billiat joined Yadah in Feberuary on a 10-month contract, which is set to expire in December.

The 33-year-old forward was captured in a video bidding farewell to his Yadah FC teammates after their last league match and sources inside told NewZimbabwe.com that he is not renewing his contract.

“Khama is now leaving the club. He is going to Scottland. Remember when he joined Yadah, Scott (Pedzisai Sakupwanya) was the one who facilitated the move, so now that he has a club in the PSL Billiat is going there,” said an inside source who preferred anonymity.

Billiat is currently the highest paid player in the topflight legue, taking home a monthly salary of US$5 000.

The former Mamelodi Sundwons and Kaizer Chiefs striker is one of the 2024 Soccer Star of The Year finalists, writing himself in the history books as the first Yadah FC player to make it on the PSL calendar.

Billiat was among players contending for Golden Boot accolade, only to lose it to Highlanders’ Lynoth Chikuhwa, who scored 17 goals, four more than his total  tally of 13 goals.

A Tanzanian publication last month revealed that Young Africa is also monitoring Billiat, who is also doing well for the Warriors since coming out of international retirement in September.
