Cameron calls on Israel to ‘immediately investigate’ airstrike in Gaza
A British national is among seven aid workers killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza, the World Central Kitchen (WCK) charity has said.
Seven aid workers from the United Kingdom, Australia, Poland, dual citizens of the US and Canada, and Palestine were killed while travelling in a deconflicted zone, WCK said in a statement.
They travelled in two armoured cars branded with the WCK logo and a soft-skin vehicle.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have âexpressed the deepest condolencesâ to the families of those killed, and said: âWe will get to the bottom of this and we will share our findings transparently.â
Foreign Secretary David Cameron has said that the people killed were âworking to deliver life-saving aid to those who desperately need it,â and that the UK has âcalled on Israel to immediately investigate and provide a full, transparent explanation of what happenedâ.
