Duke to learn outcome of phone hacking claim against Daily Mirror publisher
The Duke of Sussex will find out the outcome of his unlawful information gathering claim against the Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) on Friday.
Prince Harry launched a lawsuit against the newspaper publisher over claims journalists at its titles â the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and Sunday People â were linked to methods including phone hacking; so-called âblaggingâ, or gaining information by deception; and use of private investigators for unlawful activities.
The allegations made by the Duke, along with three other celebrities, span a period from as early as 1991 until at least 2011, the court was told.
On the first day of the trial, lawyers for MGN said that the publisher âunreservedly apologisesâ to the Duke for one instance of unlawful information gathering but the publisher has largely contested the claims and denies that any newspaper articles involved in the lawsuit resulted from phone hacking.
