MWOS beats CAPS United, as Dembare finally wins
By Sports Reporter
MWOS FC stretched its unbeaten run in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League to 16 games, after beating Harare giants CAPS United 2-1 on Thursday afternoon.
The top-flight league debutante side is one of the two teams yet to lose a game this season, FC Platinum completing that short list.
MWOS FC fought hard to maintain its unbeaten run, coming from behind to claim Thursday’s victory.
CAPS United went in front through Mabiala’s 14th-minute strike, only for Auther Banda to level matters for the hosts in the 34th minute before Innocent Zambezi scored in the 56th minute to give his side 3 points.
Commenting after the match, MWOS FC coach Lloyd Mutasa saluted his players for the brave show.
He said, “The feeling is always great, we have done this before.
“I have said it before that these youngsters, we told them that a game of football is over until it’s over.
“Most of them, when they are on home ground, they need to push it until they are dead, they did it and we got the result.”
The result saw MWOS reclaim top spot with 34 points, two ahead of defending champions Simba Bhora, who are second with 32 points.
Meanwhile, at Rufaro stadium, Dynamos picked up its second win of the season after beating city rivals Yadah FC 1-0.
Thursday’s win was the first for team head coach Saul Chaminuka, who was appointed last month.
Despite the win, Dembare remains stagnant in the relegation zone as it is on position 16 with 14 points, six ahead of bottom-placed Kwekwe United.
