Nigel Farage almost hit after protester hurls objects at campaign bus in Barnsley

A protester has been arrested by police after objects were thrown at Nigel Farage as he campaigned in Barnsley town centre.

The objects – taken from a nearby bin – narrowly missed the Reform UK leader, who was waving to crowds from the top of his election campaign bus.

Mr Farage said he believes the objects were some wet cement from a work site followed by a coffee cup, adding that he had been warned by police not to get off the bus.

Posting a video of the incident to X, the Reform leader said: “I will not be bullied or cowed by a violent left-wing mob who hate our country.”

The video shows a man in a red jacket throwing objects from a building site before being detained by police.

Mr Farage thanked South Yorkshire Police.
