Police launch murder investigation after body of newborn baby found in Ipswich
Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a newborn baby was discovered outside a property in Ipswich.
Suffolk Police officers were called at 12.35pm on Saturday after receiving disturbing reports that a newborn baby had been found outside a premises on Norwich Road in the town.
The forced arrested two men and a female on suspicion of murder in connection with the infantās death
Police said in a statement: āParamedics were also in attendance, but the baby was sadly declared deceased.ā
The force said the childās death is being treated as unexplained and those who have been arrested remain in custody where they are being questioned.
Detective Chief Superintendent Jane Topping, of the force, added: āThis is a very sad and distressing incident and, at this time, our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the babyās death is in its early stages. āI would urge people not to speculate on social media as to the circumstances of this tragic event.ā
A police cordon has been set up on Norwich Road.
