Met Police chief to meet with Home Secretary amid antisemitism row

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley is due to meet with the Home Secretary in the coming days amid a row over the force’s handling of Israel-Palestine protests.

Sir Mark will also meet with the policing minister to discuss antisemitism this week, Sky News reports.

It comes as the commissioner faces calls to quit after an antisemitism campaigner was threatened with arrest at a pro-Palestine protest, where officers described him as “openly Jewish” and said his presence was “antagonising” demonstrators.

The Met Police chief will also hold talks with Mayor of London Sadiq Khan on Monday and members of the capital’s Jewish community.
