Route map, times, schedule and when the Silverstone Grand Prix flypast is

The Red Arrows are continuing their packed summer schedule on Sunday with a display at the Silverstone Grand Prix, as well as flypasts over Ashby, Bentley and Bletchley.

So far this year the planes have already delighted crowds at several large events, including Armed Forces Day, the King’s coronation and Trooping the Colour, and performed a flypast for the King’s Scottish coronation event in Edinburgh on Wednesday.

Here’s everything you need to know about where the Red Arrows will be today, what time to watch the flypasts and when you can see them later in the summer.

What is the Red Arrows’ flight path today?

The Red Arrows will begin Sunday by transiting from their RAF Waddington base to Brize Norton. They will perform flypasts at Ashby, Bentley and Bletchley on the way.

They will then take off again for the display at Silverstone at 2.15pm, and will fly past again half an hour later, shortly before the race starts.

After returning to Brize Norton they will travel back to Waddington at 5pm.

Here is their full schedule, along with co-ordinates.

What are the Red Arrows?

The Red Arrows are the aerobatic display team of the RAF – officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team. Formed in 1964, their flypasts have become must-see events, and the displays often grace major national commemorations.

Made up of nine red jets, they entertain crowds with their thrilling manoeuvres and perfect formation flying, often accompanied with red, white and blue smoke trailing behind them.

They were traditionally based at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, but were relocated to RAF Waddington, in the same county, last year.
