Route map, transit times, full schedule and when to watch the Peterhead display

So far this year the Red Arrows have already delighted crowds at major events across the UK, including Armed Forces Day, Trooping the Colour and the Royal International Air Tattoo – the world’s largest military air show.

They will continue their packed summer schedule today with a display at Peterhead Scottish Week, before a series of flypasts and displays over northern England and Scotland on Saturday.

Here’s how to catch a glimpse of the Red Arrows today, and where you can see them later this summer.

What is the Red Arrows’ flight path today?

The Red Arrows will first transit from their RAF Waddington base to RAF Lossiemouth in Moray, north-east Scotland. The journey should take them an hour.

They will take off again from Lossiemouth at 7.14pm, ahead of the Peterhead Scottish Week display at 7.30pm.

What are the Red Arrows?

The Red Arrows are the aerobatic display team of the RAF – officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team. Formed in 1964, their flypasts have become must-see events, and the displays often grace major national commemorations.

Made up of nine red jets, they entertain crowds with their thrilling manoeuvres and perfect formation flying, often accompanied with red, white and blue smoke trailing behind them.

They were traditionally based at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, but were relocated to RAF Waddington, in the same county, last year.
