Russell Brand faces second police investigation after allegations of sexual offences

A second police force has confirmed that it is investigating allegations made against Russell Brand.

Thames Valley Police, which covers Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, said it had received “new information” in the past two weeks relating to reports of “harassment and stalking” dating back to 2018.

The Metropolitan Police launched a probe into Mr Brand last month after receiving a “number of allegations of sexual offences.”

It came after four women made allegations of sexual offences against the comedian in a joint investigation by The TimesThe Sunday Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches.

Mr Brand, 48, has strongly denied the claims and said his sexual relationships have always been consensual.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “Thames Valley Police in the past two weeks, received new information in relation to harassment and stalking allegations dating back to 2018.

“This information is being investigated; as such it would be inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation.”
