Serving Metropolitan Police officer charged with stalking woman

A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with stalking a woman while he was off duty.

PC Ben Bunsell, from the Met’s Central South Command Unit, allegedly stalked the woman between June and July this year, the Met said in a statement.

He has been suspended from duty and the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is aware of the charge.

PC Bunsell appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday in relation to one count of stalking without fear/alarm/distress, contrary to the Protection from Harassment Act 1997, the Met said.

He was arrested on Friday 28 July on suspicion of harassment and stalking.

He denies the charge.

The officer was bailed to appear for trial at the same court on Tuesday, 10 October.
