Bank holiday Monday is set to be a scorcher, and many will be hoping to take advantage of the sunshine.
The Met Office said Monday will “be a fine and dry day for much of the UK with plenty of sunshine, albeit with some patchy rain in the north of Scotland.
If you’re planning to get supplies in to celebrate the rare stint of sunshine with family and friends it’s worth knowing when the supermarkets open.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s supermarkets are expected to be open at the following times:
- Monday 29 May – 8am to 8pm
For Sainsbury’s Local stores, the opening times tend to be:
- Monday 29 May – 7am to midnight

Tesco
Opening hours at Tesco will change depending on the store, but they will generally be:
- Monday 29 May – 8am to 6pm
For the chain’s express stores, the opening times will remain roughly the same. These will be:

Asda
- Monday 29 May – 6am to 8pm
