chair Richard Sharp braced for ‘damning’ report into appointment after Boris Johnson loan

A report on allegations that BBC chairman Richard Sharp assisted Boris Johnson in obtaining an £800,000 loan when Mr Johnson was prime minister and just before Mr Sharp was recommended for his current role is due to be published today.

The chair of a parliamentary committee that probed Mr Sharp’s appointment said his position is “hanging by a thread”.
