Latest news as Minister claims Met Police ‘did pretty good job’ over coronation arrests

Health Minister Neil O’Brien has claimed that the police “did a pretty good job” over the weekend at the King’s coronation.

It comes after Scotland Yard expressed “regret” over the arrests of six anti-monarchy protesters.

The Met used the controversial Public Order Act, that was given royal assent four days before the coronation. However, it later emerged that the police did not have grounds to make the six arrests, and have personally apologised to the chief executive of the Republic anti-monarchy group.
