Is Vodafone down? Users report outage affecting network and signal

Vodafone mobile phone customers are experiencing problems with the network, with over 2,000 users logging problems with the outage tracker Down Detector by 8.30am.

According to the site, difficulties began from around 3am, with over half reporting problems with their mobile internet, while almost a third logged problems with their mobile phone generally.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, people are reporting problems with the provider in London, near Cardiff, Birmingham, Bournemouth and Stoke-on-Trent, with some users saying they are only able to make calls, while others are prevented from using all aspects of their handset.

“Anyone else on Vodafone/TalkMobile having problems with their signal?”, posted one person, while another responded, “Yep, phone has been showing 4G/5G at [the] top of my phone but had barely any signal at all this morning.”

Another added: “Same for me in North London, [I] can only make phone calls.”

One person suggested the following temporary solution: “Try making a call, network comes back for a few minutes. Worked for me. Not a solution but still,” but the original poster replied: “Yeah, I can call then get a bit of 3G and [it] drops again.”

One user stated that their network had been down since 4.30am.

Another wrote: “What is going on with Vodafone, can’t connect to anything or send a text!”

The mobile phone provider has not announced any issues on their official social media platforms or website.

A Vodafone spokesperson told i: “We are aware some customers are experiencing intermittent issues using mobile data on our network.

“Customers can still use messaging and voice services. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, our team is working hard to fix the issue.”
