Major manhunt continues for chemical attack suspect

A major manhunt is continuing for the suspect in the corrosive alkaline substance attack which left a girl, three, and her mother, 31, with potentially life-changing injuries.

Police are searching for Abdul Shookor Ezedi, 35, from the Newcastle area, following the incident on Wednesday evening in Lessar Avenue, Clapham.

A new photo of Ezedi was released after he was spotted in a Tesco store in north London. The image appears to show significant injuries to the right side of his face.

Questions were raised last night as new details emerged that Ezedi was convicted of a sex offence in 2018, several years before being granted asylum.
