David Cameron discusses Israel-Hamas conflict in first call with Antony Blinken

Newly appointed foreign secretary David Cameron has discussed the Israel-Hamas conflict in his first call with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

The pair also spoke about relations with China and Ukraine during a telephone call on Monday, which underscored the “special relationship” between the US and the UK, a spokesperson from the US State Department said.

Former prime minister Lord Cameron will return to the cabinet table for the first time in seven years on Tuesday morning after being recalled to Government during Rishi Sunak’s cabinet reshuffle.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that Gaza’s biggest hospital, Al-Shifa, is “nearly a cemetery”, with bodies piling up inside and outside.
