Almost half of voters would back Labour at the next general election even if the economy were to improve under the Conservatives, the latest YouGov poll shows.

The poll, conducted for The Times, found that 47 per cent of voters would support Sir Keir Starmer’s party even if economic conditions were to get better before an election is held, while 26 per cent said they would endorse the Tories.
