Jeremy Hunt is considering cutting national insurance tax instead of income tax in next week’s Budget, reports suggest as he prepares to outline a new levy on vaping products.

According to The Times, the Chancellor has shelved planned cuts to income tax and stamp duty after official forecasts indicated he will have less money to spend than previously expected.

The Budget, on 6 March, is expected to be far more limited than last year’s Autumn Statement.
